The 2022 CEED examination has already been completed on January 23rd this year. The results will be declared in March.
The CEED exam is held once a year. The exam lets the students take admission in prestigious institutions who dream to pursue a career in technological designs after their graduation.
The CEED examination is jointly conducted at all IITs and Indian Institute of Science (IISc). The Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India, takes the exam. IIT Bombay and industrial design center helps the government body in conducting CEED at national level.

What is the exam?
The exam has two steps.

- Mains
The CEED exam is commonly known as the Common entrance examination for design. The CEED is a prestigious all-India level entrance exam held yearly. It helps students to build their careers in technological design. The students need to complete their graduation degree to get allowed to sit for the examination.
The most interesting part of the CEED exam is that there is no age barrier. Neither to appear in the examination nor for the number of times they can sit for CEED.
The exam is held in 3 parts.
- Part A
- Part B
- Interview
Once the student cracks the exam s/he can pursue their career in Master of Design (M. Des).
CEED Exam notification
CEED 2022 has already been conducted on 23rd January 2022. Results will be out soon in March.
The registration for CEED is done online. The CEED examination is held yearly. There are mainly 3 parts to the examination.
- Part A
- Part B
- Interview
Part A is an online examination of 4hour while Part B is an offline exam of 2 hours.
Part A includes 3 sections and Part B includes 5 sections. Moreover, both Part A and B are of 100 marks each.
Once the student clears both parts A and B s/he will be called for an interview.

- The CEED examination for this year i.e. 2022 has already been conducted on 23rd January. The admit card for this examination was given on 8th January 2022.
- The application process started on 9th September 2021.
- The last date of submitting the application was on 41st November 2021.
- Part A draft answer key was released on 25th January 2022.
- Objection against the draft answer key last date was on 27th January 2022.
- The final answer key was released on 31st January 2022.
- Part A cut-off marks will be released on 10th February 2022.
- The result of CEED will be released on 10th March 2022.

- As per the age group concerned, there is no age limit. Even there is no limit on the number of times the students can appear for the examination.
- The student who wants to sit for the exam must have a graduation certificate from any prestigious college in any field.
- Also, those students can also apply who done an arts program graduation diploma (GD)

Results and cut-off marks/ percentage
Students can check their marks in the following steps:-

- Click on the CEED result link.
- Login using the password.
- Click on the scorecard option and also take a printout of it.
CEED cutoff marks are calculated in the following manner:-
b + (c/2) = a where,
a = cutoff marks for Part A
b = average marks
c = standard deviation
On the basis of students, marks are distributed as:-
General = a
OBC = 0.9a
SC/ST and PWD = 0.5a
The final mark is calculated as 0.25 X (marks of part A) + 0.25X (marks of part B)

- Login and create a username and give a valid password.
- Now, click on the “eligibility criteria” option to confirm that the student is eligible for the CEED.
- After they pass the verification stage, they can now fill in the application form.
- Once they fill in all the required blanks, they need to upload the necessary documentation to proceed further.
- The last step is to pay for the CEED exam using a credit or a debit card.

CEED Results
CEED results will be declared on their official website here – http://www.ceed.iitb.ac.in/2022/ on March 8, 2022.
The CEED 2022 Score Card can be downloaded from March 12, 2022, from the candidate login portal. CEED results are valid for a period of one year from the date of declaration of the result. For more details, please refer to the information brochure that is available on the CEED website. The CEED 2022 Score Card cannot be treated as proof of date of birth, category, or disability status.
NID Exam day guidelines
- Students must carry their CEED Admit card to sit for the exam along with their ID proof.
- Anything other than required equipment like a pen and pencil will not be allowed in the exam hall.
- Students should reach the exam center on time.
The selection process for CEED
Once the students get selected for CEED. They will get called for an interview or counseling.
This counseling process will help them to get admission to their preferred designing institutions.
During the counseling process, the students should carry the following documents:-

FAQs
Authorities have maintained the CEED exam’s difficulty level over the years. When comparing the difficulty levels of all design entrance tests conducted for PG level courses, most design aspirants agree that CEED is slightly easier than NID Entrance Exam. This is due to the fact that the drawing questions in the NID DAT are thought to be more difficult than those in the CEED exam.
In 2020, 5,564 students took the CEED test, with 1,724 passing. In 2019, 5,491 applicants took the Common Entrance Examination for Design, and 1,179 of them passed the design entrance exam.
On January 23, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., the CEED 2022 exam was held. The CEED Part A exam was held from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., while the Part B exam was held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
IIT Bombay holds the CEED exam to shortlist candidates for admission to MDes programmes at institutions that accept CEED exam scores, whilst the UCEED exam is held to give admission to candidates to BDes courses at colleges that accept UCEED scores.
On February 10, the Part A cutoff marks will be announced. Shortlisted candidates will have their Part B answer booklets assessed if they satisfy the cutoff in their respective categories.
- Yes, passing both parts of the CEED exam is required. Part A of the exam is regarded as a qualifying examination. As a result, candidates who do not pass part A of the exam are not considered for part B.
Candidates achieve CEED eligibility standards if they scored 55 percent on their qualifying exam (50 percent for reserved category students). Candidates meet the eligibility criteria, according to officials, if they:
Have completed a three-year degree, diploma, or postgraduate degree programme (after 10+2 level)
By July 2020, they will have completed their degree, certificate, or postgraduate degree programme and will be taking their final exams.

The number of seats available for CEED entrance varies by institute (that accept the exam scores for admission). For example, IIT Delhi is offering 20 seats to students who pass the CEED exam. On January 25, the CEED 2022 answer key (draught) was revealed. It will provide the official answers to all of the questions from Part A of the exam.
